Spring 2008 Case Competition - Distribution of Cases and Information Session
Attention Second Year MBA Students:
The end of the Fall Semester is approaching quickly and the Spring semester is right around the corner! As you know, the 2008 Spring Case Competition will begin on Friday, January 25th and conclude the evening of January 30th. In this email you will find a brief outline of important dates, course requirements and important information on the team request selection process. More detailed information will be communicated closer to the event.
Important Dates:
Monday, December 3rd Team requests are due to Devon by 4pm
Friday, January 25th Hand out cases and small information session
Monday, January 28th 9:00am papers must be submitted (All teams will be notified later that evening)
Tuesday, January 29th Sweet 16 Team Presentations
Reception and announcement of Final Round teams
Wednesday, January 30th Final Round Presentations
Reception and Announcement of winners
Course Requirements:
-You must participate as part of your team in developing the case analysis
-You must participate in the team presentations should your team be chosen
-You must participate in the final round presentations on Wednesday, January 30th, regardless of whether or not your team is presenting
Failure to meet the requirements listed above will result in a decrease in your letter grade.
Team Request Selection Process:
Please fill out the attached Team Request Form and return to Devon Welsh Loetz no later than Monday, December 3rd at 4pm . Only one member of the team needs to submit this information. Please note, if you have not yet registered for the course, you will not be recognized as an official team member until you have registered.
In order to ensure highly diverse teams, teams must meet the following requirements:
-4 to 5 students per team (Please note that the MBA Programs Office reserves the right to add group members to any team)
-Mix of males and females
-At least one International Student
-Representation of at least two different academic focuses (Finance, Marketing, Logistics, etc)
Any student who does not submit their name as part of a group will be assigned to a group by the MBA Programs Office. Please remember that you are submitting team requests and that the MBA Programs Office reserves the right to change teams as they see appropriate. The official team lists will be sent out once all students have been recognized as part of a team.
